Nepal is facing a severe flood and landslide disaster following massive flooding along the Bhotekoshi River and other affected areas.
Communities in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Chitwan, East Nawalparasi and surrounding districts have been severely affected. Floods and landslides have damaged homes, roads, bridges and essential infrastructure, while disruptions to electricity, drinking water and communication networks have made access to many communities extremely difficult.
Families affected by the disaster urgently need food, clean drinking water, medicines, temporary shelter and other essential supplies.
HSS Nederland is raising funds in the Netherlands to support humanitarian relief efforts for communities affected by the devastating floods and landslides in Nepal.
Every contribution, large or small, can help provide essential support to families facing the aftermath of this disaster.
Funds raised through this appeal will be channelled by HSS Nederland to Sewa International Europe, which is coordinating support for the Nepal relief effort in collaboration with Sewa International Nepal and the wider Sewa network.

On 26 August 2026, devastating flash floods triggered by intense monsoon rains swept through the Bhote Koshi River region of Nepal, causing widespread destruction across areas including Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and Gorkha.
Homes, roads, bridges and essential infrastructure have been severely damaged, leaving many communities cut off from assistance. Hundreds of lives have been lost, many people remain missing, and thousands of families have been affected by the loss of homes, livelihoods and access to basic necessities.
The situation remains extremely challenging, with damaged infrastructure and communication disruptions making access to some communities difficult.
Sewa International Europe is coordinating humanitarian support from Europe and working with the wider Sewa network, including Sewa International Nepal, to respond to emerging needs in affected communities.
Support is being coordinated for essential relief requirements such as food, drinking water, medicines, temporary shelter, hygiene supplies and assistance for vulnerable families, followed by rehabilitation and recovery support as the situation develops.
The Government of Nepal has established mechanisms for the coordination of disaster-relief assistance and has called for financial contributions through officially authorised channels.
Sewa International Europe respects and supports these directives and is coordinating its response in accordance with the guidance and procedures established by the Government of Nepal and the relevant authorities.
The priority remains clear: save lives, support survivors and help communities recover.

Sewa International Europe coördineert humanitaire steun vanuit Europa en werkt samen met het bredere Sewa-netwerk, waaronder Sewa International Nepal, om te reageren op opkomende behoeften in getroffen gemeenschappen.
De ondersteuning wordt gecoördineerd voor essentiële hulpbehoeften zoals voedsel, drinkwater, medicijnen, tijdelijke onderdak, hygiënebenodigdheden en hulp aan kwetsbare gezinnen, gevolgd door rehabilitatie en herstelondersteuning naarmate de situatie zich ontwikkelt.
De regering van Nepal heeft mechanismen opgezet voor de coördinatie van rampenhulp en heeft via officieel geautoriseerde kanalen opgeroepen tot financiële bijdragen.
Sewa International Europe respecteert en ondersteunt deze richtlijnen en coördineert haar respons in overeenstemming met de richtlijnen en procedures die zijn vastgesteld door de regering van Nepal en de relevante autoriteiten.
